Equipment
1 baking sheet
for warming taco shells
1 whisk
for whipping cream (optional)
Ingredients
4
crispy thick taco shells
3
ripe bananas
sliced into thick coins or strips
1
cup
fresh or stabilized whipped cream
1/2
cup
chopped roasted walnuts
pecans, or peanuts
1/3
cup
thick caramel sauce without artificial flavors
Optional: warmed chocolate sauce or crushed cookies for garnish
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and place taco shells on a baking sheet; heat for 4 minutes until warm and crisp.
Peel and slice bananas, then evenly layer them inside the warm taco shells.
Whip cold cream with a small amount of sugar to soft peaks or use store-bought whipped cream; spoon or pipe generously over the bananas.
Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the whipped cream, pressing lightly to help them stick.
Drizzle caramel sauce slowly over the nuts and whipped cream layers to coat thoroughly.
If desired, garnish with a swirl of warmed chocolate sauce or a sprinkle of crushed cookies before serving.
Notes
Warm shells just before filling for crunch; use ripe bananas for creamy texture; assemble tacos right before serving to avoid sogginess.
